Building Blocks Therapy has a duty of care to our staff members and other clients. This policy applies to clinic and community (e.g., home, school, kinder, childcare) sessions. We therefore aim to minimise cross contamination and the spread of infectious diseases at all times. Please refer to our ‘Infection Control Policy and Procedure’ for full details.
We understand that at times your child will become sick and that this is out of your control However, it is imperative that families preserve a focus not only on the well-being of their own child but also upon the well-being of other children and staff at our clinic and therefore keep their child home if they are sick.
Your child must be symptom free for 24 hours, without the use of medication. Therapy will not occur if your child exhibits any of the following symptoms.

- Severe coughing
- Eye discharge
- Upper respiratory illness
- Chicken pox (until all blisters have dried and formed scabs)
- Bacterial Infection (Strep Throat etc)

In the event that your child is exhibiting any of the above symptoms we ask that you contact your therapist as soon as possible to reschedule your appointment or move your appointment to a Telehealth session. In the event we arrive for an appointment and find your child is exhibiting any of the above listed symptoms, we reserve the right to cancel the session (full session fee will apply).
